About

Nikhil Shankar is a second-year undergraduate pursuing a BA in economics with a focus on health care policy in the developing world. He currently serves as co-president of the Forum for American/Chinese Exchange at Stanford (FACES), communications chair of the Stanford Global Health Student Council, associate editor at the Stanford Journal of Public Health, associate editor at the Stanford Undergraduate Economics Journal, and as a research assistant at the Stanford Center for Poverty and Inequality. Dedicated to advancing equality of opportunity through access to affordable and quality health care, Shankar actively works towards a deeper understanding of how health care systems can be changed to be more effective, efficient, and sustainable through advanced coursework, research pursuits, and collaborations with other students. He will be a summer field research assistant for the project Emergency Medical Care and Crisis Support in Uttar Pradesh, India.
